Immer mehr Leute kaufen sich die neuen 16:9 TV Geräte oder haben bereits einen zu Hause zu stehen. Solange man damit fern sieht oder Spiele auf einer Konsole Spielt sieht das Bild auch immer gut aus.
Ein Problem mit den Geräten haben allerdings die Heimkino und DVD Freunde. Denn obwohl auf fast allen DVD's hinten 16:9 drauf steht sind diese Filme in Wirklichkeit im Cinemascope Verfahren aufgenommen - also 2,35:1 oder sogar 2,40:1 und nicht 1,78:1 (16:9).

Daraus ergibt sich für mich dann folgendes Problem:
Obwohl ich einen 16:9 Fernseher habe muss ich bei 90% meiner Sammlung mit schwarzen Balken oben und unten leben, da das Bild zu breit ist. Dies ist besonders ärgerlich, weil die Menu's der DVD's immer in echtem 16:9 glänzen und kurz danach wird nicht mehr der ganze Fernseher in Anspruch genommen.
Noch viel schlimmer ist es, dass das 2:35:1 Format auch auf den meisten Blu-Ray's zu finden ist, da fast alle Kinofilme mittlerweile im Cinemascope Verfahren gedreht werden. Wenn man also denkt man hat einen Full-HD oder HD-Ready und einen Blu-Ray oder DVD Player mit Upscaling und man bekommt ein schönes sauberes Bild hat man sich wohl geschnitten. Wie kann man das Problem umgehen?
Eine Möglichkeit ist das Zoomen am TV Gerät oder DVD Player. Diese Variante ist allerdings nicht optimal, da Bildinformationen am Rand verloren gehen oder das Bild gestaucht wird.
Bei Beamern kann man meistens die Bildfläche eingrenzen, sodass nur noch das 2:35:1 Bild übrig bleibt. Das müsste man dann allerdings bei einigen wenigen DVD's die in echtem 16:9 sind wieder zurücksetzen.
Eine andere Möglichkeit gibt es nicht. Bleibt nur der Trost, dass die nervigen Balken auf einem 4:3 noch größer sind.
Fazit:
Wer auf echtes Heimkino Feeling steht sollte beim Kauf ein möglichst großes Gerät aussuchen, damit auch bei Spielfilmen das Bild angenehm groß ist.
Stellt sich für mich nur die Frage ob irgendwann auch 21:9 (2,35:1) Geräte auf dem Markt auftauchen und ob das Fernsehbild nach HDTV und die Konsolen nach den Next Generation Konsolen auch auf 2,35:1 umgestellt werden.

Die Filmindustrie und die Elektronikhersteller verschaukeln uns und in ein paar Jahren müssen wir alle auf 21:9 umrüsten um Filme wirklich genießen zu können. Ich find es krass das es selbst beim HD Format Blu-Ray keinen "Fullscreen" gibt.
